30 years ago, Kimberlé Crenshaw coined the term “intersectionality” to describe the interplay of different forms of oppression. Since then, the US-American professor of law, activist and CIJ President has worked tirelessly to make visible the complex realities of marginalised communities, above all Black women. Crenshaw has already inspired, supported and empowered countless people in their struggle for justice. We have invited our President Kimberlé Crenshaw to Berlin. Together with this extraordinary activist, academic and feminist, we would like to celebrate the concept of intersectionality and all of the work our fellow activists in Germany have been and continue to do: including you all! The evening will be MC’d by Mayowa, the Archestra will accompany the event musically, four speed talks by Ed Greve and Afra Gyekye, amongst others, will start off the evening and then the curtain will rise for: Kimberlé Crenshaw! Hoe_mies will DJ the party afterwards.
